# Create Periodic Inventory

## Overview

This operation is used to create a Periodic Inventory. A template can also be created using a similar procedure and there is also the possibility of using a template to create the new object as well. This selection can be done in the main entity menu.

## Setup

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

## Preconditions

* The Periodic Inventory does not currently exist in the system.

## Sequence of Steps

### Step 1: General Data

1. Provide a name for the **Periodic Inventory**.
2. Optionally, provide a description of the **Periodic Inventory**.
3. Select the **Owner** of the **Periodic Inventory**.
4. Optionally, select whether the **Periodic Inventory** should be started.
5. Select **Next** to select the **Resources** associated to the **Periodic Inventory**.

### Step 2: Resources

1. From the list of **Resources** that is displayed, select the **Resources** that will be used for this **Periodic Inventory**. The list can be filtered by **Facility** or **Area**. The system also provides the user with the possibility to search for a particular **Resource** by using the *Search* box.
2. Select **Create** to complete the operation and the new **Periodic Inventory** will be created.
