# Change Running Mode

## Overview

This operation is used to change the Resource running mode. The Resource's running mode affects the Recipe resolution, since a Resource may require different Recipes depending on the running mode.

## Setup

No specific setup is required other than to meet the precondition of the transaction.  

## Preconditions

* The new running mode must be defined in the [[resourcerunningmode-st]].

## Sequence of Steps

### Step 1: Result

1. In the **Resource**, select the **Change** button, and in the drop down select **Running Mode**.
2. Select the new **Running Mode**.
3. Optionally, enter a comment.
4. Select **Change** to complete the operation.
