Manage Measurement Capabilities#

Overview#

This operation is used to change the measurement capabilities of Resources of Processing Type Instrument.

Setup#

No specific setup is required other than to meet the precondition of the transaction.

Sequence of Steps#

1. Select an appropriate Resource, navigate to the Measurement Capabilities section and press the Manage button.

2. Add as many Measurement Capabilities as desired (press in the top right of the grid to add, and to remove, ordering the items with the and buttons) - specifying one item minimum - providing for each item the following information:

   • Mode - The Measurement mode. If only one Mode exists, this field is optional.
   • A specific Parameter to be measured.
   • Measurement Units - mandatory, although can be retrieved if a Parameter is selected and has Units defined.
   • Range
     • Lower Range
     • Upper Range
     • Range Units
   • Resolution and associated units.
   • Precision and associated units.

   • Accuracy.

     Warning

     At least one of the following properties must be defined: Resolution or Precision or Accuracy.

     Warning

     There must be a direct or indirect unit of conversion factor in the Unit Conversion Factors Generic Table between the Measurement Units and:

   • Range Units

   • Resolution Units (if defined)
   • Precision Units (if defined)

3. Select Update to complete the operation.
