--- alias: user-guide-manage-resource-measurement-capabilities description: "Configure and modify measurement capabilities for instruments within a processing transaction" --- # Manage Measurement Capabilities :lock: Resource.**Edit** ## Overview This operation is used to change the measurement capabilities of **Resources** of Processing Type *Instrument*. ## Setup No specific setup is required other than to meet the precondition of the transaction. ## Sequence of Steps 1. Select an appropriate **Resource**, navigate to the *Measurement Capabilities* section and press the **Manage** button. 2. Add as many Measurement Capabilities as desired (press :material-plus: in the top right of the grid to add, and :material-trash-can: to remove, ordering the items with the :material-arrow-up: and :material-arrow-down: buttons) - specifying one item minimum - providing for each item the following information: * Mode - The Measurement mode. If only one Mode exists, this field is optional. * A specific **Parameter** to be measured. * Measurement Units - mandatory, although can be retrieved if a **Parameter** is selected and has Units defined. * Range * Lower Range * Upper Range * Range Units * Resolution and associated units. * Precision and associated units. * Accuracy. !!! warning At least one of the following properties must be defined: Resolution or Precision or Accuracy. !!! warning There must be a direct or indirect unit of conversion factor in the *Unit Conversion Factors* Generic Table between the Measurement Units and: * Range Units * Resolution Units (if defined) * Precision Units (if defined) 3.
