# Set Resource Recipe

## Overview

This operation is used to manually set the current **Recipe** for a given **Resource**.

## Setup

No special setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

## Preconditions

* The **Resource** exists and is Active.
* The **Resource** Is Recipe Management Enabled is set to `true`.
* The **Recipe** to be set is Effective, Is Enabled and Is Executable.
* The **Resource** Current Recipe Version is either empty or `null`; if it is not not empty or `null` the Current Recipe Version Source is the User.
* If the TopMost **Resource** Is Multilane Active is set to `true`, the **Resource** Lane Count > 0, and the Lane Recipe Mode is Per Lane, you must specify the **Resource** Lane.

## Sequence of Steps

The **Set Resource Recipe** wizard can be called from the **Resource** page within the Business Data Group.

1. Select the **Set Recipe** button on the top ribbon.
2. In the Options, specify Validate Recipe Context (defaults to `true` - must be validated). If set to `true`, you can select any **Recipe** from the system (this is useful for Experiment Management).

    !!! note
	      This default configuration can be overridden by adding an entry to the Generic Table `GUIElementDefaultValue` - Context: Resource.SetRecipe; Element: ValidateRecipeContext BypassRecipeContextValidation; Value: False; Is Enabled: False.

3. If the Validate Recipe Context is set to `false`, you will be presented with a list of possible **Recipes** that you can set.
4. Select a Lane.
5. Select the **Recipe**.
6. Optionally enter a Comment.
7. Select **Set** to complete the operation.

The configured information is then available in the **Lanes** section of the **Resource**.
