# Manage Step Inspection Severity Instances

## Overview

This operation is used to Manage Inspection Severity Instances of the **Step**.

## Setup

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

## Preconditions

* The **Step** exists and it is Active.
* The **Enable Inspections** field in the [[user-guide-manage-inspection-information]] Settings is `true`.

## Sequence of Steps

### Step 1

1. Navigate to the **Inspections** section in the main **Step** details page:

2. In the **Manage** button drop-down, select Manage Inspection Severity Instances:

3. Add, edit, or remove Severity Instances (use :material-plus: to add, and :material-trash-can: to remove) as needed.
4. Provide the **Severity** (mandatory) for each instance according to what is defined in the [[inspectionseverity-lt]] lookup table:

5. Enter other information as needed.
6. Select **Update** to complete the operation.

The **Severity Instances** information will be available in the appropriate tab:
