# Reassign Task

## Overview

This operation is used to reassign a **Task** from the current user to another person.

## Setup

No special setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

## Preconditions

* The **Task** must be Active.
* The current user must be the Owner of the **Task**.

## Sequence of Steps

### Step 1

1. Select the new **Employee** to whom the **Task** will be assigned.
2. Optionally, enter a Comment.
3. When selecting the **Reassign** button to complete the operation, a notification will be sent to the new **Task** Owner. For more information, see the notifications section on [[user-guide-create-task]].
