# Edit Asset Directory

## Overview

This operation is used to edit an **Asset Directory**.  

## Setup

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

## Preconditions

* The IoT Data Platform module is properly licensed in the system.
* The **Asset Directory** exists in the system.

## Sequence of Steps

The Edit Asset Directory wizard can be called from the **Asset Directory** page within the **Data Platform** menu.

### Step 1: General Data

1. Select the **Asset Directory** from the dropdown box on the left side of the screen.
2. Select the **Edit** button on the top ribbon.
3. After performing the necessary changes, select **Save** to complete the operation.

    The Name of the Asset Directory cannot be altered. All other non-system properties can be altered.
