# Edit Data Set

## Overview

This operation is used to Edit a Non-System **Data Set**. To change a System **Data Set**, see [[user-guide-data-set-security-permissions]].

## Setup

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

## Preconditions

* The **Data Set** exists in the system.
* The Owner Type of the **Data Set** must be different than System.

## Sequence of Steps

The Edit Data Set wizard can be called from the **Data Set** page within the Business Data Group.

### Step 1: General Data

All non-system properties can be changed in this wizard.

The Name of the **Data Set** cannot be altered.

### Step 2: Fields
