Creating Entity Objects#

🔒 EntityTypeName.Create

There are several ways to create a new entity object in the system:

  • Through the entity landing page in the Business Data menu entry.
  • From an existing entity object page.
  • Loading the entity using Master Data Packages.

Entity Landing Page#

There is a New button available in all the entity landing pages, together with a query that displays all the existing active objects for that particular entity type. Selecting that button will bring up a Create dialog and allow the creation of a new object of that type.

Entity Object Page#

A New button is available in the More dropdown button in the top ribbon of an entity object page. Selecting that button will bring up a Create dialog and allow the creation of a new object of that type.

For versioned entities, the New button is located directly in the top ribbon and you can choose between creating a revision or a new version.
