Overview#
The GUI Page Layout of every Critical Manufacturing MES page can be customized to suit your working needs, which makes for a smoother user experience.
It is also possible to customize Views and decide which page will be your default view.
This means that every GUI page will have a Save and Reset button, grouped under Settings, that can be accessed through the More actions button available on the top ribbon.
Info
Saved layout customizations will be available for every page of that same entity.
Save Layout#
Using the Details page of a Material as an example, you can make customizations such as:
- Defining the current page as your default view.
- Having specific sections open and ready to work with.
- Adjusting the size of data grid columns for better reading.
- Removing unnecessary column options from data grids.
- Setting filters as is most convenient.
- Others.
Note
When data grids are refreshed, the saved layout remains the same, but the data is updated.
After you have customized your layout you must Save it as shown in the image above. This will open a Save Details View Settings wizard.
Note
Wizards are always page oriented.
In the wizard you must define the following settings:
- Layout (defaults to
True) - will save the currently customized layout. - Default View (defaults to
True) - will save the current view as your default view. - Preset Filters (defaults to
False) - to save any filter customizations, you must set this toTrue.
If you are an Administrator user, you must also define the Assignment, as follows:
- Specific User - users name must be entered in the Specific User field.
- Primary Role - primary role must be defined in the available field.
- All users - saved customizations will apply to all users of the system.
When you Save, your customizations will be applied to all Material Details pages.
Views Layout#
You can also customize the layout of any of the available Views and this customization will be widespread for that entity's views. When you have made your customizations you must save them to call the wizard.
In this example the customized layout of the Traceability view has been saved for all users, but it has not been saved as the default view. That is, the default view continues to be the Material Details page. Therefore, it is possible to customize the layout of all the views independently of the page you customized to be your default view.
If you want to delete the saved layout customizations you need to use the Reset function, which is mentioned next.
Reset Layout#
If you want to revert the saved customizations of your page, you can use the Reset button, in the Settings group of the More button, and all of your customizations will be deleted. Your layout will return to its original factory layout.
Reload Layout#
The Reload option which is available from the page tab itself is used to override current layout changes, that you may have just made for a specific purpose, and return to the saved default layout. Your current layout changes will not be saved.
Warning
Reload is not the same as Reset.
See below for more details on the available layout actions:
- Save - saves all your layout customizations which will apply to all pages of the same entity.
- Reset - deletes all your layout customizations and returns to the factory default layout.
- Reload - current layout customizations are overriden and system returns to the saved default layout.
