History#

General History#

All system objects can be configured to store history or not. History is kept for a minimum time in the online database and it is offloaded to the operational data store (ODS). In addition, it is also possible to specify which properties and operations record history.

All objects which have History enabled (configurable in the entity type master data definition) have a history section. Generic and Smart tables can also be configured to have history enabled.

The history is organized by services which aggregate one or multiple operations involving one or more objects.

In the History tab, the most recent entries are shown, sorted from the most recent to the oldest. This history view joins information from the online database with the operational data store (ODS).

History is presented in a hierarchical tree structure. To drill-down on a particular Service, click on the Service. To view the changes performed by a particular operation, press the CHANGES button. Press > to drill-down the operation.

History

It is possible to filter the services and operations displayed as well as the range of dates by expanding the Filters section first and then specifying the desired filters. It is necessary to press the Apply filter or Refresh button in order for the filters to take effect.

The History page size is configurable. The user can navigate through the pages by clicking on the page numbers, pressing next or previous or entering the page number directly on the bottom-right corner of the grid.

At the operation level, the old and new values are shown. By default, the Show Complete record optional is disabled, i. e. only the deltas are displayed, but the filter can be configured to display the complete record.

Comment History#

It is also possible to show only the comment history by pressing the comments history button as shown in the next picture.
